USA Movement for Buhari-Osinbajo (USM4BO) Playing A Role in Nigeria’s Governance

Maryland, USA: Recently, Nigerians from across the states of the United states gathered in Maryland at the calling of the The USA Movement for Buhari-Osinbajo (USM4BO). For many years, Nigerians in diaspora have yearned for an opportunity to make their mark back home.Their inability to do this has been blamed on lack of willingness by successive governments. But now with the change in power, these Nigerian Americans have come together to form a kind of alliance to create the change they want to see in Nigeria.

Accordingly, the USM4BO organization recently held a party to  celebrate the outcome of the last elections and its role the said outcome. Below are some pictures from the USM4BO and the full text of the Chairman’s speech.

Chairman’s Speech

His Excellences’

Honorable Senator/ member of Congress,

Secretary Of State of Maryland,

Distinguished members of the Nigerian Defense Attaché,

Progressive Business Leaders / Sponsors

My fellow Nigerians, and all Friends of Nigeria,

Welcome!

This evening I like to share a few thoughts with you;

Like every other patriotic Nigerian, I wish our President & vice President-Elect: General Muhammadu Buhari / Profesor Yemi Osinbajo, and all who will labor with them, Godspeed in good governance and I pray that this incoming administration will be blessed beyond measures with peace and prosperity in every undertaken.

Nigerians at home and around the world expect the incoming administration to find essential agreement on issues challenging our great country…especially on: Security, Power, Healthcare, Employment, Economic Opportunity, Tribal and Religious tolerance, balance in government with inclusiveness and mutual respect to women, youths and elders, among other wise resolutions of which will better shape the future of our great country.

The manifesto of our Movement is to advocate and export policies that will advance Nigerians in all aspects of life.

We strongly believe in one prosperous Nigeria.
We also believe that “Nigeria is better together.” We stand to protect the image of Nigeria here in America and elsewhere. We are committed to foster true democracy, human rights, peace, community development, opportunity, fairness, and freedom for all Nigerians.

Our ultimate purposes is to keep the peace; to foster progress for all Nigerians, and to enhance tolerance, dignity and integrity among leaders and among Nigerian people.

Our failure and ignorance to achieve these, or our lack of comprehension and readiness to act or sacrifice would inflict upon us grievous hurt both now and in generations to come.

We all know, for too long Nigeria is infected with hostile and corrupt ideology of “Winner takes it all … if you can’t Beat them you join them.” It’s an ideology that is ruthless in purpose, insidious in method, and barbaric in nature.

Thanks be to God, on March 28, 2015 Nigerians by themselves clearly understood these truths and have responded vehemently to Change those systemic ideas, and to help restructure Nigeria and restore our nation’s pride. Now, brothers and sisters the EAGLE has landed. Let us come together to rebuild Nigeria. There can be no daily democracy without daily citizenship.

John F. Kennedy once said “Ask not what your country can do for you. But ask what you can do for your country” Nobody can make Nigeria better but Nigerians. Because God will always use what we have to sustain us.

President Bill Clinton said: “There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America. Please permit me to paraphrase that: “There is nothing wrong with Nigeria that cannot be cured by what is right (or made) with Nigeria.

Nigerians want democracy to survive for all generations to come, and to remain the cornerstone of Nigeria.

Thank you for celebrating this victory with us.

May God bless you and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
